Keynote - The Road to Recognition
Seth Price
(no CE)
You don’t control your reputation anymore, your customers do. Most people think of branding as a new logo, a good slogan and some beautiful business cards. But today, creating a brand means so much more than hiring a designer and redesigning your website. Whether you like it or not, a new version of your brand has emerged on the social web. Your brand is being shaped by online reviews, peer referrals, conversations on social networks and the content consumed by your socially connected customers. In this talk I show you how to connect the new and old tools of brand building to build trust at scale. Leave the session with actionable steps and resources you’ll use to start defining and building awareness for your brand. So you can connect with consumers throughout the entire journey online and off.

1pm - 4pm
Creating Digital Experiences to Empower the Modern Consumer
Seth Price
(3 hrs elective)
We’ve been thinking about our marketing all wrong. We have created websites, content and advertising to convince the consumer to do something that they may not be ready to do. What would it look like if we turned that on it’s head and focused all our marketing efforts on educating and empowering the consumer during their customer journey? That’s what customercentric marketing is all about. It’s helping the consumer as a trusted advisor and delivering the right content and experience to the right person, at the right time.

1pm - 4pm

Get Your Geek On: What You Don't Know Can Hurt You
Trista Curzydlo
(3 hrs law)
Consumers and practitioners expect relevant information to be provided to them with a click of button or a swipe of their finger.  As the practice of real estate becomes a more digital experience, it's important that practitioners understand and manage the risks associated with 'going digital.' Home Depot, Anthem Blue Cross & Blue Shield, Target and TJ Maxx made headlines when they announced major data breaches. Think only huge companies are at risk of a data breach? Think again, security experts estimate that 70% of data breaches occurred in companies with fewer than 100 employees. Cloud computing and cloud storage, e-mail communication, mobile devices and social media can all make your real estate business more efficient, but they also can create havoc if not used and protected properly. This course will also address the increased potential for real estate professionals to run afoul of the laws regulating intellectual property in the United States. This course identifies situations where violations are becoming increasingly common and with student participation develops risk reduction techniques for every practitioner regardless of their tech savvy.

9am - noon
Scared Straight: Disclosure Issues for RE Agents
Jason Vaughn
(3 hrs law)
This course digs deep into the ethical disclosure requirements of an agent and the legal disclosure requirements of the seller under statutory and common law. Attendees also get to ask questions about how to stay on the right side of the law.
